Before we take our first steps towards co-creation, we all need to enter into an agreement field together. So Before you submit your volunteer application, we feel that there are some things that you should know in advance:
Sound & Silence is about deep connection, collaboration, support and intimacy. This "being together throughout" is what facilitates new friendships and spontaneous creations which lead to unforgettable moments during the week. So we ask our volunteers to be with us starting one day before and staying until one day after the gathering ends, and to be fully present throughout our 7 days together.
Also, we ask that our volunteers work at least 4, but possibly even 5 hours each day. Our program starts early and ends late, so we will do the work in shifts. With few exceptions, most of the work is light and easy and will happen between events, and while some of the work will happen during events, we will do our best to create rotations so that you will not miss any events that your heart is set on.
Furthermore, for the work you do, you will receive a free ticket for the 7 days that you volunteer for. However, we will be able to provide food or accommodation. When and where we can (its not possible in all locations) we will do our best to find you inexpensive options. (Please Note: Discounted food & accommodation will be offered for Costa Rica 2020)
Please know that volunteer service is generally reserved for those who are in financial difficulty or on a tight budget. So if you are in a state of financial abundance, please buy a ticket and leave the volunteering for those who need it most. If you are in a good financial situation but wish to support our team anyway, please let our office team know. We can always use the help of a few extra karma yogis.
