Glamping (Furnished luxury tents with beds and bedding provided, including electrical outlets)
Camping Tents (brand new Coleman tents, with a mattress and bedding included)
BYOT (Bring your own tent. We provide the platform, you provide everything else)
If camping is not your thing, there are some local hotels and B&B's several KM's away. We will publish those soon.
Please note: Bathrooms are very nice, however they are outdoors and shared.
Please bring your own towels
Paths will be well lighted but we still recommend you to bring a flashlight.
Can I arrive early or stay in my tent after the gathering is finished? Unfortunately, No. We highly recommend that you spend as much time exploring the natural beauty of Costa Rica as possible, however, it will not be possible to stay on the property outside of our 7 days together. For early arrivals and late departures, you will need to book a hotel on those nights. We will be supporting our guests with tour packages after the gathering is over, more will be announced on that soon. ~ Check in time will be 12:00pm on 15 March and check out is 12:00pm on 22nd of March.
How do I get to the gathering? It is best to fly into San Jose Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) Puerta a la Vida (Our Home) is located in the small town of Miramar about 1.5 hours by car from the airport (See map) Click Here for step by step directions
We recommend that you wait to book your ride from the airport, as we are looking into a shuttle service to save our guests time, money and energy. Uber and Taxi's are widely available, however, they can be quite expensive. Car rental is also an option and not a bad one, especially if you wish to spend your afternoons at the beach or explore the cloud forests. Bicycles are not a good option as we are on a steep grade. We will be sharing more details on this section soon, so please hold tight.
What are the house rules?
Come in Silence, Go in Silence. We ask that everyone honor our evening and morning times as sacred and silent time. So immediately following all evening concerts, which will typically end around 11:00pm, we ask that everyone enter silence until 9:00am which is about halfway through our breakfast time.
Please respect the boundaries of others. S&S can be a juicy and wild celebration, but it also is a deep process which brings up some deep emotions in a lot of people. Please be supportive but also give space to people when needed.
No alcohol, drugs or sacred medicines of any kind allowed. We kindly ask that you join us in a clear and sober state of mind. There will be plenty of euphoria without the need of any substances
No garbage please. Especially plastics. Please help us to maintain a clean and sustainable environment. If you can't help it, please take all refuse with you when you leave and dispose of it in a proper rubbish bin.
Can I bring my children with me? Of course! We welcome children of all ages to our gatherings. Kids aged 13 - 17 are half price, while children aged 12 and under are welcome to attend our gatherings for free, on the provision that they are to be attended by their parents at all times. Parents will also be asked to sign a liability waiver form. And while we want children to have fun and feel free, we also ask parents to help us maintain the meditative aspect of S&S, especially those moments of beautiful silence between songs and sessions. ~ For the meditation workshops, please check first with the teacher to make sure children are allowed.
Will there be a children's program? If we have enough children, we will offer a light Children's Program with Art, Dance, Yoga etc in the afternoons. If you would like your child(ren) to join the program, please let us know during your booking process. This is important to enable us to manage the group size.
What should I bring?
Please bring a small offering for our community altar.
Please write your intentions on paper to burn at the ritual fire on the Full Moon Spring Equinox
We recommend bringing your own yoga mat
Please bring your own water bottle (The venue provides fresh filtered water, but you must bring your own reusable container)
Bathing suit, beach towel, sun lotion, sun glasses, sun hat
Walking shoes - a big beautiful land to explore!
Raincoat and umbrella
Cash - see below
Can I go to the bank or ATM and withdraw money? Costa Rica is very modern and tourist friendly. There are banks and ATM's all over dispensing both local Colones as well as US Dollars. However, there are no credit card services on our property, so we recommend that you bring some cash for small items such as coffees, juices and snacks
How is the weather in Costa Rica? This is the tropics, so yes, the weather is great and be prepared. Being just 10 degrees north of the Equator, the weather in Costa Rica is generally very mild and warm. The day is likely to be filled with a big bright sun and soft breezes from the ocean, however, a short, yet delicious rainshower has been known to surprise us. There are two seasons - the rainy and dry, and March is in the hot and dry time near at our gathering space, with temperatures in the low 30's(C) during the day and dropping to the low 20's(C) at night
